to me art is play. but it is serious play. at the very base of this play is me trying to figure out who i am and how i relate to others.in trying to relate, an artist finds himself in relationship with others whom cant or are not yet ready to relate to the artist. i am gonna paraphrase a saying and say the artist doesnt know anymore than anyone else, the creative impluse within him compells him to translate his experience into a visual format. as a visionary sees things differently he most often is alone. he only tries to speak as best he can. he does not communicate within any language other than his own.
